My name is Robert Pardon.
I want to welcome you to Becomingwellnow. I am a recovered alcoholic and drug addict with over 24 years of freedom from my addictions. Over the years, I have spent countless hours of working with thousands of other alcoholics and drug addicts through church, AA, prisons, institutions and other programs. I also have a degree and certification in Alcohol and Drug Studies from San Bernardino Valley College in CA. I have worked in many treatment environments, such as methadone treatment for drug offenders, DUI programs and social model recovery homes and also in anger management programs.
Most hospitals and institutions require insurance, inpatient programs, time off work, upfront money, meetings away from home and a number of other things that are not practical for most people... so you suffer with your addiction, wishing and hoping there was something, or someone, that could help.
Alcohol recovery is one of the most challenging areas of addiction because of the major role denial plays in the life of those addicted. Almost every alcohol treatment center uses the 12 Steps of AA in one form or another. AA will even tell you that the first step to alcohol recovery is getting past the denial and admitting that you are powerless over alcohol.
Treatment can not begin until the person admits they are addicted and secondly they believe that recovery can happen for them. They must believe that they can get clean and sober and every other way they have tried does not work.
Living sober is not easy, but it is simple. Whether your concern is teen alcoholism, women for sobriety or drug intervention I can help. Maybe you are a codependent and you are seeing signs of alcoholism as the drinking problems increase.
What I do at Becoming Well Now is share my story of alcohol recovery. My resources include traditional addiction counsultation and what I have learned through AA and NA, including the plan of recovery laid out in the "Big Book" of Alcoholics Anonymous. Most importantly, I explain to you what I have learned through the Word of God.
This website was created to direct you in the path that has worked for me and countless others. The Bible states in John 8:36 that when the Son sets you free "ye shall be free indeed". The Big Book states "There is one who has all power, that one is God, may you find Him now". My desire is that you will trust God, accept the relationship that He wants to have with you and understand that His way of freedom from your addiction is the only way that will last forever.
